Xi’an Grand Prix: Kyren Wilson beats Judd Trump 10-8 to win last

Kyren Wilson claimed a hard-fought win over fellow Englishman Judd Trump to turn out to be the inaugural winner of the Xi’an Grand Prix in China.

The reigning world champion beat the brand new world primary 10-8 to safe the £177,000 high prize within the second rating occasion of the season.

The pair weren’t separated by greater than a body till Wilson took management from 8-7 all the way down to clinch three in a row and seal victory.

The 32-year-old, who beat Ronnie O’Sullivan 6-4 within the semi-finals on Saturday, now has seven profession rating titles, transferring forward of Ken Doherty, Stuart Bingham, Stephen Maguire and Ali Carter on the all-time listing.

Trump’s semi-final win over Daniel Wells ensured he would change Mark Allen as world primary and regain high spot for the primary time since 2021.

The 35-year-old hoped to safe a twenty ninth rating title, which might have taken him away from Steve Davis in fourth on the all-time listing.

The 2019 world champion received the Shanghai Masters final month, though that’s not presently a rating occasion.
