The Arizona Diamondbacks claimed right-hander Thyago Vieira off waivers on Thursday following his one-game stint with the Baltimore Orioles.
Vieira, 31, was designated for task on Monday by the Orioles, who acquired him and minor league pitcher Aneuris Rodriguez from the Milwaukee Brewers on Could 25 for minor league right-hander Garrett Stallings.
Vieira’s lone look for the Orioles was Could 27, when he did not retire a batter whereas permitting a triple, 4 walks and three runs in an 11-3 victory over the visiting Boston Purple Sox.
The Brewers designated him for task on Could 20 after he recorded one save with a 5.64 ERA, 13 walks and 25 strikeouts in 22⅓ innings over 16 reduction appearances.

Frias, 26, was 0-1 with a 9.95 ERA in 6⅓ innings over seven reduction appearances for the Diamondbacks this season.
