Standardbred-Themed Contests for Ontario College students

The Invoice Gavin Racing Alliance (BGRA)  has discovered a enjoyable solution to entice younger folks to the game of harness racing.

The non-profit’s mandate is to create and encourage partnerships and applications that may promote and develop harness racing by participating youth and most of the people with the Standardbred business.

To this finish, the group is operating two contests for Ontario college students. The Youth Literary Derby is a juried, Standardbred horse-themed writing contest for Ontario college students in Grades 3-8 and it carries $2,000 in prize cash.

The Youth Artwork Derby is a juried, Standardbred horse-themed artwork contest for Ontario college students in Grades 3-12 and it carries $1,500 in prize cash.

The group was named for Invoice Gavin, a Canadian horse racing historian, poet, creator, writer, educator, horseman, humanitarian, publicist, racing official and journal editor who handed away in 2020. He was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Corridor of Fame in 2014.

Contests shut on August thirty first.
