The Kansas Metropolis Royals positioned right-hander Michael Wacha on the 15-day injured record Sunday with a fractured left foot.
The transfer was retroactive to Saturday, sooner or later after Wacha was drilled by a comebacker off the bat of Luis Arraez within the first inning of an 11-8 loss to the San Diego Padres.
