~7 Males’s groups and 6 Ladies’s groups will vie for high honours~
New Delhi, twenty second July 2024: The 2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Males & Ladies West Zone Championship 2024 is about to start on the Veer Narmad South Gujarat College Hockey Floor in Surat, Gujarat tomorrow. 7 Males’s and 6 Ladies’s groups will vie for high honours within the Finals scheduled for 30 July.
The Ladies’s class will see Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Maharashtra, Hockey Rajasthan, Hockey Gujarat, and Goans Hockey battle one another in a round-robin format, with the highest two groups qualifying for the Remaining on the finish. The Males’s class is split into two swimming pools. Pool A consists of Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Maharashtra, and Hockey Rajasthan. In the meantime, Pool B will function Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Gujarat, and Goans Hockey. The highest two groups on the finish of the group stage will advance to the Semi-Finals on 29 July.
Hockey Madhya Pradesh and Goans Hockey will get the Sub Junior West Zone Championship underway within the Ladies’s class tomorrow, adopted by matches between Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Rajasthan & Chhattisgarh Hockey and Hockey Gujarat. Within the Males’s class Chhattisgarh Hockey will tackle Goans Hockey, adopted by a contest between Hockey Rajasthan and Hockey Maharashtra.
Sharing his ideas on the 2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Males & Ladies West Zone Championship 2024, Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey stated, “The Sub Junior Zonal Championships are geared toward unearthing expertise from obscure corners of the nation by offering kids knowledgeable expertise of hockey at a younger age. 13 groups are set to take part in Surat and we hope, in time, to see gamers from this area grow to be stars of the game.”
