PINEHURST, N.C. – Neal Shipley was rolling late Saturday morning at Pinehurst No. 2, birdieing 5 of his first 10 holes to claw again to even par for the championship.
After which he wasn’t.
It began on the par-4 thirteenth gap, the place Shipley drove it to a clumsy 54 yards from the outlet.
