Goliath wins King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot


Goliath and jockey Christophe Soumillon prompted an upset with victory within the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.

Blue Stocking got here second and Insurgent’s Romance claimed third with favorite Auguste Rodin ending fifth.

Goliath, who had odds of 25-1, is the primary French-trained winner of the Group One race since 2006.

“I really like successful like this,” coach Francis-Henri Graffard advised ITV. “I do know my horse has good tempo. We got here right here to Ascot to seek out some tempo. He travelled so properly.”
